Execution of the athletic actions of the golf swing do require certain physical parameters to be present in the body. If the body is lacking in the required levels of mobility, flexibility, strength, stability, and/or power to execute the golf swing in an efficient manner, ones ability to do so will be impeded. This typically results in a loss of speed, poor ball striking, and in general a lack of consistency. Over an extended period of time these physical dyfunctions lead to the development of compensations in one's golf swing in attempt to overcome these "physical faults".
The development of a physical foundation to support the golf swing centers upon the Principle of the Body-Swing Connection. This principles states in order to execute a proficient golf swing certain levels of flexibility, mobility, strength, stability, and power must be present in the body. The process by which the golfer can develop these physical components associated with the golf swing is via a comprehensive golf fitness training program. Such a program will address the key physical components associated with the golf swing.
What can the golfer expect from adherence to a golf fitness training program over an extended period of time? First and foremost such a training program will develop the physical foundation required in the execution of an efficient golf swing. This physical foundation will provide one with the opportunity to execute a proficient swing. Secondly, such a program can correct physical dysfunctions limiting the execution of the swing as well as reduce the potential for injury, and finally such a training program can provide performance increases in key areas of the game. |
